Paraprofessionals - Secondary Abington Public Schools - 4.1 Abington, MA Job Details Full-time 19 hours ago Qualifications General academic student support Classroom management assistance Student progress monitoring Teacher collaboration Small group instruction Learning styles adaptability Individualized instructions Working with students Data collection for student progress in special education Working with students with special education needs Student behavioral guidance IEP implementation Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act in education Student progress notes Entry level Group tutoring Full Job Description Paraprofessionals within the Abington Public Schools work closely with general education and special education teachers in order to meet the needs of all students in a grade or classroom. Some paras support individual students, while others work with small groups in a general education classroom or alternate setting. The responsibilities of Paraprofessionals may vary between grade and school building, due to differences in students developmental levels. The most common responsibilities of a Paraprofessional include the following: Supporting a teachers daily instructional plan and implementing differentiated instruction and clarification, as needed.

Working with small groups of students or one to one with a single student.

Supporting the classroom teacher in responding to students behavioral, physical, and academic needs.

Maintaining active awareness of students IEP and 504 arrangements and the educational impact of their disabilities.

Implementing accommodations and modifications to Special Education students on an as needed basis.

Communicating and gathering information about student progress to general and special education staff, so that teachers may use this information to guide instruction and liaisons may use this information to track progress and adjust service arrangements.

Supporting daily, building-based operations as assigned by the principal.

Paraprofessional salary range is pursuant to the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Abington Education Association Unit B and the Abington Public Schools. Job posting will remain open until filled, however, first consideration will be given to applications received by 7.29.26
