Reports to: Building Principal and Special Education Program Manager Position Overview

Ipswich Public Schools seeks two dedicated Paraeducators to join the team at Paul F. Doyon Memorial School. Paraeducators work under the direction of classroom teachers and special educators to support student learning, independence, and success in academic, social-emotional, and behavioral domains. These roles support both general education and special education students in inclusive classroom settings.

Key Responsibilities

Work with special and general educators to promote student independence across the curriculum and school activities.

Assist individual students or small groups in mastering assignments, skills, and concepts introduced by teachers or special education staff.

Support implementation of IEPs, 504 plans, and behavior intervention plans.

Assist with classroom management, behavior support, and supervision of students (including transitions, recess, lunch, and field trips as assigned).

Perform other related duties as assigned by the Principal or designee.

Qualifications

Required:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Meet Massachusetts highly qualified paraeducator standards: Ability to pass CORI and national fingerprint-based background checks.

Strong interpersonal skills, patience, flexibility, and a commitment to supporting all learners.

Preferred:

Experience working with elementary-aged children, preferably in a school setting.

Experience supporting students with special education needs.

Knowledge of or willingness to learn inclusive practices, social-emotional learning strategies, and positive behavior supports.

Position Type:

Full-Time

Salary:

$31.25 to $37 Per Hour
