Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher Assistant to join our vibrant educational team. In this role, you will provide essential support to teachers and students, fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment. Your energetic approach will help promote student success, especially for those with special needs, including individuals with developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders. Duties Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and early childhood education principles Support students with disabilities by providing behavioral management, physical assistance, and classroom support tailored to their individual needs Collaborate with educators and specialists to develop and modify Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) ensuring personalized learning strategies Use American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication techniques to facilitate effective interactions with students with communication challenges Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement strategies and behavior management techniques for students with behavioral disorders or autism spectrum disorders Prepare instructional materials, assist in lesson planning, and support curriculum development efforts Maintain confidentiality of student information and adhere to policies outlined by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) Skills Strong understanding of childhood development, early childhood education, and classroom management techniques Experience working with children, especially those with disabilities or special education needs Knowledge of behavior management strategies for students with behavioral challenges or developmental disabilities Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is highly desirable Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and professionally Basic math skills and literacy education experience to support diverse student learning levels Experience supporting students with autism spectrum disorders or other developmental disabilities is preferred Familiarity with curriculum planning, lesson support, and classroom support in special education settings Join us in creating a nurturing environment where every student can thrive!
