This position focuses on facilitating clear communication for a designated student during the school day, helping ensure their full participation and access to all educational activities.

Key Qualifications:

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) required Experience as a paraprofessional, educational interpreter, or in a school setting highly valued Previous experience working with students in an academic environment is beneficial but not mandatory Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster a supportive environment Punctuality, discretion, and a professional demeanor are essential Certification is not required for this role

Responsibilities:

Deliver one-on-one sign language interpreting services for a specific high school student in classes and school activities Accurately convey spoken information into ASL and signed communication into spoken English as needed Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards while working with students and staff Assist the student in understanding and participating fully in classroom discussions, assignments, and school events Collaborate with school staff to meet the individual communication needs of the student This assignment follows a regular schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:45 am to 2:45 pm, ensuring clear work-life boundaries and consistency throughout the school year.
