Autism Teacher/Direct Support/Mentor — Engagement & Life Skills We're looking for a creative, engaged instructor/mentor for a 24-year-old female who is autistic with high anxiety and sometimes exhibits challenging behaviors. She's sweet, loving, and does best with someone who shows up as an active participant in her interests — not just a supervisory presence.

What this looks like:

joining and guiding her in activities she already loves — art projects, walks, movement activities such as yoga, and word and card games — with opportunities to introduce new activities as rapport develops, as well as support with ADLs, approached collaboratively rather than clinically. She has ongoing support from a psychiatrist, psychologist, and Occupational Thrapy (with SLP support drawn on as needed), and our home support team meets regularly to communicate and coordinate care. We're looking for someone who:

• Has experience with individuals with developmental disabilities, ideally including behavioral support or de-escalation
• Is patient, flexible, and comfortable with repetitive or atypical behaviors without judgment
• Values connection and trust-building
• Is comfortable with written and verbal communication — reading instructions, writing clear session notes, and sharing updates with the team

Schedule:

2-3 evenings per week, 6-10pm, plus Sundays 1-4 or 2-5. Specific weeknights and hours for Sundays will be agreed upon based on the applicant's availability.

Setting:

Mostly in-home during evenings, with occasional community outings. Pay & structure: $30-45/hr, based on experience and education, with paid training provided.

Pay schedule is every two weeks through a payroll agency.

$30.00 - $45.00 per hour Expected hours: 12.0 - 16.0 per week
