Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Discover a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact in a school environment as a dedicated paraprofessional. This contract position is designed for individuals who are passionate about supporting student success, with a specialized focus on working 1:1 with a 5th grade student. The ideal candidate will be a male para, as this student has shown remarkable progress with a male presence. Beginning as soon as possible and continuing through the end of the school year, you'll have the unique opportunity to support this student both on site and during their transition to a new educational setting in January.
Qualifications:
Experience as a paraprofessional or in student support services, preferably in a school setting Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport, especially with elementary-aged children Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to behavioral supports Commitment to consistency, reliability, and maintaining a safe environment Ability to follow individual education plans (IEPs) and collaborate with teachers and staff Flexibility to continue supporting the student after they transfer mid-year
Key Responsibilities:
Provide dedicated, 1:1 assistance to a 5th grade student throughout the school day Foster a supportive and structured learning atmosphere Assist with academic activities, behavioral coaching, and social skills development Communicate effectively with educators and staff to ensure continuity of support Transition with the student to their new educational environment, adapting strategies as needed This is your chance to build a strong professional relationship while helping a student thrive academically and personally.
