Job Description
POSITION
Special Education Teacher Assistant
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's Degree in a related field. Minimum 1-3 years' experience working with students, preferably students with disabilities
JOB FUNCTIONS
As directed by the teacher, provide instruction in the areas of early academics, K-12 academics, vocational and employment, self-care, life skills, and social emotional learning Assist in preparation and organization of instructional materials Implement behavior support plans for students with significant behavior challenges which can result in the student displaying physically aggressive behaviors towards self or others Assist students in meeting their immediate self-care needs related to feeding, toileting, and hygiene Implement strategies to support students with severe language impairments including modeling the use of assistive technology Demonstrate the ability to keep all information regarding a student and their family confidential
