Job Description

Goodrich Area Schools Children's Center School Age After Care Assistant Summary:
The Children's Center is seeking a School Age After Care Assistant who is passionate about guiding all children. This position may vary depending on program size and particular site needs. At times job responsibilities may overlap. Qualifications and Requirements Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age. Applicants must be personable, reliable and child-oriented. CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification. Compliance to complete Central Registry Clearance. Essential Functions and Representative Duties Under the direction of the Site Director/After Care Supervisor, the Assistant is responsible for the following: Provide students with the appropriate leadership during the program. Maintain safety and ensure the welfare of all enrolled children, supervision of children during all activities. Engage and supervise of the children in the school age after care program.
Day-to-day operation:
including and maintaining a harmonious and efficient learning environment.
Curriculum:
implementation, and documentation of developmentally appropriate activities that includes, but in not limited to, crafts, games, self-directed play, physical activities, reading, quiet time, and/or offer an environment where homework is encouraged. Develops and maintains professional relationships with classroom teachers, coworkers, families and other staff. Attends all staff meetings and other work related functions as required. Maintaining an organized and clean classroom environment and ensure students conduct themselves appropriately. Follow and enforce all safety policies. Assist with students check in/out policies and procedures. Maintain confidentiality of information regarding all students. Willingness to complete 16 clock hours of annual professional development training and certification continuation in CPR/First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogens. Work Environmen t Work is performed at Reid Elementary School and may include other facilities of the district. There is limited exposure to physical risk.

Children's Center Director; Building Principal
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Monday thru Friday, Student days only Approximately 3:30pm - 6:00pm
START DATE
2026-2027 school year. Paid orientation training available beginning of the school year.
COMPENSATION
$15.10 - 16.46 per hour, based on certification and degree plus years of experience in early childhood education.
