Job Description

Assistant Teacher / Support Staff - Portage Milestones Early Learning is hiring full-time and part-time Assistant Teachers/Support Staff at our Portage location! This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with children and likes a varied workday. Support staff work throughout the center, assisting in multiple classrooms and working with children ranging in age from 6 weeks to 12 years old. You may spend part of your day supporting infants and toddlers and another part helping in preschool or school-age classrooms. Responsibilities and Duties Provide a safe, caring, and engaging environment for children. Assist classroom teachers with the daily care and supervision of children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. Support multiple classrooms throughout the day and week based on center needs. Engage children in age-appropriate activities and authentic learning experiences through play. Assist with routines such as meals, diapering, toileting, transitions, and nap time as needed. Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow staff members. Work as part of a team to provide quality care and a positive learning environment. This is a great opportunity for college students, individuals exploring a career in Early Childhood Education, or anyone who enjoys working with children . Experience working with children is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate. Qualifications and Skills Ideal candidates will be: Caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Patient and attentive to children's needs Motivated and willing to learn Comfortable working with children of different ages Able to adapt to working in different classrooms throughout the day Able to work well in a team-oriented environment Required qualifications/credentials: Clear criminal background check Current CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain Must be 18 years of age or older

$14.00-$17.00 per hour, depending on experience and/or education
