POSITION DETAILS:
Hourly, 10-Month Position M-Th from 7:00-2:30pm and Friday from 7:15-10:30am Quarryview Education center class located in preschool at Lincoln.

Building Principals, Immediate Supervisor

$19.00/hr
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
High School or GED Diploma
Highly Qualified (HQ) status demonstrated through one of the following:
60 college credits (or AA/AS degree) with a GPA of 2.0 or higher
Passing score on the Paraeducator Exam (contact district for information) Preferred
Similar job-related experience

POSITION SUMMARY
The Paraeducator is responsible for assisting and encouraging students to learn the specialty under the direction of a professional and to assist students in preparing their lessons for all subject areas when in the classroom, Resource Center, computer lab; and occasional media support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Supervising/assisting students during instructional and non-instructional activities
Maintaining awareness and observing student's activities/actions; assessing behavior including communicating rules, expectations and consequences
Promote School District rules, policies, procedures, Mission Statement and Core Values
Assists in the development and maintenance of a positive learning environment
Adhere to federal, state and district student data confidentiality and privacy laws
Observe, monitor, and communicate student progress to teachers
Performing record keeping and clerical functions to support the administrator or teacher
Serve as resource provider to students/staff/volunteers regarding materials/technological equipment
Other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL FACTORS
The ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time; may be exposed to adverse weather
Frequent:
walking, standing, sitting, hearing, talking, and seeing
Light Work:
exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
