Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract If you're seeking a rewarding opportunity to support students as a paraprofessional, this contract assignment could be an ideal fit. Several openings are available for dedicated paraprofessionals to make a meaningful impact in various school settings near Liberty, MO. These roles involve assisting students with diverse needs in both resource and special education environments. Flexibility and experience with medically fragile students and behavioral support are essential for certain assignments. Current openings as of 8/21/26 include: Resource Instructional Assistant at an elementary campus, supporting academic and classroom needs. Two positions in a K-12 special education campus for elementary-aged students in a medically fragile classroom. One position in a secondary classroom at the same K-12 campus, working primarily with students on the autism spectrum.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Previous experience as a paraprofessional or instructional assistant, particularly in special education settings. Proven ability to work with medically fragile students and manage challenging behaviors. Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with teachers, therapists, and families. Adaptability to adjust to changing assignments as new needs arise throughout the school year. Patience, empathy, and a passion for empowering students.
Responsibilities:
Provide direct support to students individually or in small groups, helping deliver academic instruction and reinforce learning. Assist with classroom management and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) as directed. Support personal care and health needs for medically fragile students. Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all learners. Work collaboratively with classroom teachers and other school staff.
