White Birch Educational Services is a women and clinician-owned and operated agency in New Hampshire. We provide support to children through districts with school psychologists, mental health/social workers, board-certified behavior analysts, speech-language pathologists, special education teachers, paraprofessionals, and other related service providers. We are currently seeking a full-time Paraprofessional to support students with general education at the middle school level within the Winnisquam School District. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a highly supportive and collaborative team environment, dedicated to making a positive impact.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
To perform this job successfully, the individual in this role must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations under applicable law may be made to enable qualified individuals to perform these essential functions. The job duties for this role are performed at the assigned work site. Assists with the implementation of accommodations, modifications, and other supports in accordance with student Individual Education Plans. Supports students with Individual Education Plans. Collects progress data as directed by the student's special education team. Works collaboratively with the student's classroom teacher and other faculty. May assist students with activities associated with daily living (feeding, hygiene, etc.) Assists with classroom behavioral management to minimize disruptions, ensures a safe and orderly classroom, and ensures students are on task. Complies with all departmental policies and procedures, including timekeeping requirements Consistently works the scheduled hours established for the role. Other duties deemed necessary by the school district as appropriate for the role.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Experience as a Paraprofessional is strongly preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills. Compassionate and committed to students' well-being.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Typically work indoors and in classroom environments and may need to work outdoors during physical education activities or during recess. Often need to be on their feet, moving around the classroom, and walking between classrooms or to different areas of the school. They need to be able to see clearly to monitor student activities, read instructions, and observe student needs. They need to be able to hear and understand spoken instructions, communicate with students and staff, and monitor classroom sounds. They may help students with feeding, toileting, hygiene, and maneuvering around the school. 6. The weight they may need to lift can range from a few pounds to potentially 50 pounds or more, depending on the role and specific needs of the students. They may need to push or pull wheelchairs, carts, or other equipment. They may need to reach overhead, above their shoulders, or horizontally to access supplies or assist students.
