Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Paraprofessional to join our dynamic educational team. In this vital role, you will provide essential classroom support to students with diverse learning needs, including those with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and other special education requirements. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help foster an inclusive environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Responsibilities Assist lead teachers in implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) and support plans tailored to students' unique needs. Provide direct support to students with disabilities, including physical assistance, behavior management, and classroom engagement strategies. Use other communication techniques to facilitate effective interaction with students who have communication challenges. Manage classroom activities, maintain a positive learning environment. Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, counselors, and other professionals to monitor student progress and adapt support strategies accordingly. Handle confidential information responsibly while supporting classroom routines. Requirements Prior experience working with children in classroom or childcare settings, especially within special education environments. Knowledge of childhood development, behavior management for students with behavioral disorders, and classroom management skills. Familiarity with autism spectrum disorders support strategies and experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Proficiency in basic math, literacy education, and early childhood education practices; Montessori or private school experience is a plus. Strong communication skills—both written and verbal—and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams of professionals. Ability to provide physical assistance for students requiring mobility or sensory support; comfort working with students who have disabilities. Understanding of confidentiality standards related to student records and sensitive information handling.
