Giggles N' Tots is a small home-based daycare and preschool program in Dumont, NJ looking for a caring, dependable, and energetic Teacher Assistant to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a small, family-like home daycare environment and genuinely enjoys spending time with young children. You will work alongside our childcare team to help provide a safe, nurturing, clean, and engaging environment for children from infancy through preschool age. Responsibilities Assist with the daily care and supervision of children Support age-appropriate learning activities, crafts, circle time, music, and play Help with meals, snacks, nap/rest time, and daily routines Assist with diapering and other age-appropriate care Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe home daycare environment Participate in outdoor play and activities when appropriate Help children transition between activities and routines Follow all health, safety, and childcare procedures Communicate respectfully with families and team members Support the lead teacher with daily classroom responsibilities The Right Person We are looking for someone who is: Caring, patient, and nurturing Reliable and punctual Comfortable caring for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers Energetic and willing to actively participate with the children Comfortable working in a home daycare setting Organized and attentive to children's needs Professional and respectful A team player who can also work independently when needed Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old Previous childcare, daycare, preschool, nanny, or teaching experience preferred Early childhood education experience is a plus CPR/First Aid certification is a plus Must be able to meet applicable childcare requirements and pass required background checks Compensation Starting at $18/hour
