Job Description

The Learning Experience - Hackensack, NJ seeks an Assistant Teacher to support classroom instruction for infants through preschoolers. In this role, you'll help implement a curriculum-based program that promotes early literacy, math, creativity, and social-emotional growth. Responsibilities include assisting with lesson preparation, maintaining a clean, safe classroom, supervising indoor and outdoor play, and documenting daily activities. You'll partner closely with lead teachers and families, follow health and safety standards, and participate in ongoing training. This is a collaborative, child-focused environment where you can grow your skills in early childhood education. Responsibilities Assist lead teacher with implementing curriculum-based activities for infants through preschoolers Support classroom management and maintain a clean, organized, and engaging environment Supervise children during playtime, meals, and rest periods to ensure safety and well-being Assist with preparing materials, setting up learning centers, and cleaning up after activities Follow all health, safety, and sanitation procedures and center policies Communicate daily with parents and guardians about children's activities and progress as directed Observe and document children's development and behavior to support individualized learning Collaborate with staff to create a warm, inclusive, and nurturing classroom culture Participate in ongoing training and professional development Assist with transitions, arrivals, and dismissals to ensure smooth daily operations Required Skills Classroom support Early childhood curriculum implementation Child supervision Behavior management Health and safety procedures Parent communication Observation and documentation Basic first aid Time management Team collaboration
