Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Teacher Assistant to join our educational team, committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will work closely with classroom teachers, special education professionals, and families to support student success. Your enthusiasm and proactive approach will help create a positive atmosphere where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Duties Assist classroom teachers in implementing lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and early childhood education principles Provide physical assistance and behavioral support to students with disabilities or special needs, including those on the autism spectrum or with developmental disabilities Support students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) by helping meet their specific goals and accommodations Use effective behavior management techniques to promote positive conduct and support students with behavioral disorders or challenges Facilitate communication using American Sign Language (ASL) when applicable, ensuring clear understanding for students with communication needs Support classroom management by maintaining a safe, organized environment conducive to learning and childcare Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to develop strategies for student support and progress monitoring Assist in classroom activities that promote literacy education, basic math skills, and overall childhood development Handle confidential information responsibly while supporting students' educational journeys Experience Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is highly desirable Demonstrated experience supporting students with disabilities or special education needs, including autism spectrum disorders and behavioral disorders Knowledge of Deaf education principles and experience working with American Sign Language (ASL) preferred Familiarity with early childhood education practices and childhood development theories Experience managing classroom behavior and implementing behavior management strategies effectively Background working within private school environments or special education classrooms is advantageous Strong communication skills—both written and verbal—are essential for collaborating with staff, students, and families Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and professionally Join us in creating a nurturing educational environment where every child's potential is unlocked through dedicated support, collaboration, and innovative teaching assistance. Pay:
