Assistant Teacher

Job Description

LEAP is seeking a qualified Assistant Teacher for one of our Infant classrooms! As an Assistant Teacher you will: Assist in the development and delivery of lessons that are in accordance with the program's curriculum Create positive, child-directed learning environments Observe and record an assessment of children's growth, development, and behavior Work in a family atmosphere, as part of a team that goes above and beyond for each other and the children we serve
Salary:
$19.50-$21.50/hr based on qualifications.
Hours per week:
35 Infant/Toddler position -Weeks per
Year:
52 Paid time off: 35 hours of personal time 17 Holidays Paid vacations: Christmas-New Years Eve Accrue sick time each pay period
Qualifications:
A Valid driver's license. An understanding of young children and low-income families, and an appreciation of parents as the primary educators of their children.
Requirements:
A minimum of an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood, a Preschool CDA or equivalent certification or be willing to enroll in the course and obtain the CDA. (We pay for the training!) Be trained in early childhood development with a focus on infant and toddler development. At least one year of experience working with young children, preferably in an infant/toddler setting. LEAP places a strong emphasis on the value of diversity, equity and inclusion.
