Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting student development as a Teacher's Aide/Assistant working one-on-one with a preschooler. This contract opportunity spans the school year, from September 8, 2026, to June 18, 2027, with a consistent weekly schedule of 32.5 hours. Located near Painted Post, NY, this position provides a chance to make a direct impact every day. Ideal candidates will possess experience in behavioral support, enjoy working with young children, and be comfortable with the essential duties of a preschool environment, including assisting with personal care such as diaper changes. What you'll bring: Prior experience as a paraprofessional, teacher's aide, or teacher assistant Familiarity with preschool-aged children and a supportive, patient demeanor Background and interest in behavioral needs or positive behavior intervention (preferred) Willingness to help with daily care routines, including diapering and toileting needs Dependability and a collaborative approach within an educational team Ability to communicate effectively with classroom teachers, therapists, and families In this role, you will: Provide consistent, compassionate support to a single preschool student throughout the school day Assist with social, academic, and behavioral development as guided by classroom staff Manage personal care needs discreetly and respectfully to promote student comfort Collaborate with educators and specialists to reinforce learning and therapeutic plans Foster a warm, safe, and encouraging environment for the student Enjoy competitive compensation between $18 and $22 per hour, paid weekly.
