Part-Time After School Teaching Assistant for Preschool / Daycare The Nook Park Slope Park Slope, NY Job Details Part-time $18 - $21 an hour 11 hours ago Qualifications School experience CPR Certification Outdoor work experience First Aid Certification Full Job Description Job Summary We are looking for a part-time extended day / after school teaching assistant to join our team. The role involves working with children ages 2-5 in a small, creative and nurturing environment. We are a Reggio Emilia preschool, and believe children learn best through play and exploration. Our preschool is a warm and supportive environment for both children and adults. This role is 2 days a week (Tuesday and Thursday) from 3 pm - 3pm and begins on September 10th. Duties Supervise children during extended day hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. This includes outdoor time at the local playground. Assist in setting up open ended and creative activities for the children to engage with Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and guiding children through routines and transitions Maintain a clean, organized environment by helping with setup and cleanup of activity areas All aspects of caregiving, including toileting, diapering and snacks Skills A love of working with children, patience, and an interest in implementing a play-based, child-led curriculum Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, including preschool or daycare environments Mandated Reporter, CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon starting employment Ability to supervise children outdoors safely during outdoor activities or playground time All employees will need to be fingerprinted and background checked by the Department of Health. The fee for fingerprinting will be reimbursed with the first official paycheck.
Pay:
$18.00 - $21.00 per hour
