Job Description

POSITION

Edison Paraprofessional

RESPONSIBLE TO

Building Principal

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Discusses assigned teaching area with classroom teacher to coordinate instructional efforts; Plans, prepares, and develops various teaching aids and maintains teacher's copy requests; Assists in presenting subject matter to students, utilizing variety of methods and techniques such as lecture, discussion, and supervised role-playing; Assists in preparing, administering, and grading examinations and assignments; Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts; Works with students and teachers to set performance goals; Covers classes and duties such as lunch, playground and bus duties when requested; Submits reports and performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Must meet the USDE Highly Qualified Standard by having one of the following: Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or must pass the state approved para-professional test given by the district.

Beginning of the 2026-2027 school year.
