Working under the direction of the classroom teacher and case manager, this role assists in implementing individualized educational and behavioral programs while helping students develop academic, social, self-help, and daily living skills in a safe and supportive school environment. Responsibilities Provide one-on-one instructional and behavioral support to assigned students. Assist with implementing individualized academic, behavioral, and educational programs. Support the development of cognitive, communication, gross motor, fine motor, self-help, and feeding skills. Monitor and manage student behavior in accordance with established guidelines and behavior support plans. Implement Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). Assist students with personal care needs, including toileting, diapering, feeding, handwashing, and changing clothing as needed. Maintain the health and safety of students by monitoring their environment and individual needs. Assist with lifting, positioning, transferring, and repositioning students, including the use of braces and other orthopedic equipment. Collaborate with teachers, specialists, case managers, and other school staff to support student success. Assist students with social skill development and peer interactions. Prepare students for participation in inclusive and mainstream classroom activities. Maintain records and documentation related to student progress. Attend required training, professional development, and in-service programs. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Experience working with children, students, or individuals requiring caregiving support. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Preferred experience in Special Education, Autism Support, Behavioral Health, or Mental Health settings. Ability to assist students with mobility and personal care needs. Required Clearances & Certifications First Aid and CPR Certification (must be obtained prior to start date). Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance. Pennsylvania State Criminal Background Clearance. FBI Fingerprint Clearance. Current TB Test Results. High School Diploma, GED, or official transcripts verifying highest level of education.
