Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting students as a Personal Care Aide (PCA) in a dynamic school environment. This contract opportunity runs through June 2027, with positions available at various elementary, intermediate, and high school locations. You'll be matched to a school based on current district needs—your flexibility and passion for student support will make a direct impact in the classroom.
Key Qualifications:
Experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar educational support capacity Pennsylvania credentialing preferred; candidates fully credentialed receive selection priority Capable of completing all required clearances: Act 151 (Child Abuse), Act 114 (FBI Fingerprinting), Act 126 (Reporting Training), Act 168 (Employment History), PATCH/Act 134 (Background Check) Physical and recent TB screening (2-step or Quantiferon TB blood test) required Strong communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable building rapport with students, staff, and families Flexibility to work at any assigned campus within the district
Core Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with diverse needs, including autism and emotional challenges Assist teachers by reinforcing instruction and fostering a safe, positive learning environment Help with classroom management and support students' daily activities, schedules, and transitions Aid in the implementation of behavior management plans as directed Maintain confidentiality and exhibit professionalism at all times This is a full-time, 35 hour per week onsite role—ideal for those eager to build experience in education and special needs support. Preference will be given to candidates with the necessary credentials and thorough completion of the required onboarding steps. Pay up to $22 per hour, commensurate with experience.
