Job Summary Join our vibrant early childhood education team as a Pre-K Classroom Assistant, where your enthusiasm and dedication will help create a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive learning environment for young learners. In this vital role, you will support lead teachers in implementing curriculum plans, managing classroom activities, and fostering positive behaviors. Your active participation will ensure each child receives personalized attention, promotes their developmental growth, and feels safe and supported throughout their preschool journey. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's early learning experiences while honing your skills in education and classroom management. Responsibilities Assist lead teachers in preparing and organizing classroom materials aligned with early childhood education standards. Support children with daily activities, including literacy, math, arts, and play-based learning exercises. Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, and rest periods to ensure safety and well-being. Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive social interactions and emotional development. Communicate effectively with children to foster language development and social skills. Collaborate with teachers to monitor individual progress and adapt instructional approaches as needed. Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that complies with educational regulations and safety standards. Support parent communication by sharing updates on children's progress and behavior in a professional manner. Use educational technologies such as computers and tablets to enhance learning experiences when appropriate. Assist in ensuring compliance with the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and other relevant educational policies. Experience Prior experience working with young children in a classroom or childcare setting is highly preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles, special education needs, including working with children with autism or disabilities. Familiarity with classroom behavior management techniques and early childhood curriculum frameworks such as Montessori or other pedagogies. Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, parents, and external specialists. Certification in first aid and CPR is required or obtainable upon hire. Strong communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members clearly and professionally. Experience using educational technologies such as computers or tablets to support learning activities. Understanding of educational compliance standards and regulation requirements for preschool environments. Pay:
$13.00 - $15.00 per hour Expected hours: 32.0 - 40.0 per week
