$15.00 per hour Job Summary Wayne Pike Workforce Alliance is looking to hire Teacher Assistants for our SHINE After-school Centers located in the Wayne Highlands, Wallenpaupack and Delaware Valley School Districts. This is a 36-week comprehensive after-school program and includes K- 5th grades.

Job purpose:

To support the Program Initiative by assisting with student management. Teacher Assistants will be provided training opportunities and on occasion will participate in special events. Duties and responsibilities Assisting students in with homework. Guiding and helping students to participate in learning center reading groups, games, and other STEAM activities as organized by SHINE teachers. Serving dinner to students, families, and staff. Clean up of dinner and all SHINE activities after the students are dismissed. Staff development participation. This is a great learning opportunity for you to receive hands-on experience in a classroom environment! Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand. The employee may regularly lift and or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work environment The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Part-Time (12-14 hours per week) This position is contingent upon grant funding "Funded in full or in part with a federal USDE grant provided by the PA Department of Education."
