Job Description

Job Overview Join our vibrant after-school program team as an After-School Program Assistant! In this dynamic role, you will play a vital part in creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children and youth. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help foster positive development, encourage teamwork, and inspire young minds through fun activities and meaningful interactions. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact on children's lives while developing your skills in youth engagement, behavior management, and educational support. Duties Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Facilitate a variety of youth group activities, including arts and crafts, homework assistance and possible dance instruction Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive conduct and conflict resolution Maintain a clean and organized activity space, ensuring all materials are safe and accessible Experience Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp programs, youth groups, or educational environments is highly preferred Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, or willingness to obtain these certifications upon hire Experience facilitating youth development programs or teaching young children in early childhood education or special education settings Demonstrated ability to lead team activities with enthusiasm and professionalism Background in sports coaching, theater arts, babysitting, or similar roles that involve working directly with children is a plus Strong communication skills combined with patience, creativity, and a passion for nurturing childhood growth This position is ideal for motivated individuals eager to support children's development through engaging activities while gaining valuable experience in youth programs. Pay:
$25.00 - $40.00 per hour
