Job Summary The Creative Nursery in Strafford, Vermont is looking for a caring, patient, and dependable individual to join our team as an Infant/Toddler Aide. Opened in June 2024, The Creative Nursery is an extension of the Creative Preschool, providing high-quality, play-based care for infants and toddlers. Our program emphasizes nurturing relationships, developmentally appropriate play, and engaging indoor and outdoor learning experiences guided by the Vermont Early Learning Standards (VELS). Position Summary The Infant/Toddler Aide works collaboratively with the classroom lead teachers to ensure the successful operations of the program through morning activities and rest time. The Infant/Toddler Aide must be a strong team player with a willingness to learn and grow as well as have knowledge of infant and toddler development. Duties Assist with supervising infants and toddlers during daily activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Support classroom management by engaging children in age-appropriate play, learning activities, and routines Help implement curriculum plans focused on childhood development principles and early education best practices Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that promotes safety and comfort for young children Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's daily experiences, milestones, and any concerns Follow mandated reporting laws to report any signs of neglect or abuse promptly and appropriately Support staff in implementing health and safety protocols, including pediatric first aid and CPR when necessary Assist with diapering, feeding, nap times, and other caregiving responsibilities as directed by lead teachers Participate in ongoing training related to child development instruction, special education needs, and behavior management strategies Experience Previous experience working with children in daycare centers, preschools, babysitting, nannying or similar caregiving roles is highly preferred Familiarity with infant care routines including feeding, diapering, and sleep schedules Knowledge of childhood development milestones and early childhood education principles Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is advantageous Certification in first aid and CPR (including pediatric first aid) is required or willing to obtain upon hire Classroom experience in early childhood settings demonstrating strong child supervision skills Ability to communicate effectively with parents, staff, and children from diverse backgrounds Understanding of mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare This role is ideal for compassionate individuals passionate about early childhood education who are eager to support young learners' growth in a nurturing environment. Pay:
