Qualifications & Skills:

Experience as a paraprofessional in a school or educational setting Proficiency in basic sign language (interpretation certification not required) Passion for supporting diverse learners, including those with special needs Patience, empathy, and strong communication abilities Ability to follow teacher directions and collaborate effectively with educational staff High school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary coursework in education preferred)

Key Responsibilities:

Provide instructional and personal support to students as directed by the classroom teacher Utilize basic sign language to assist students in accessing curriculum and classroom activities Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment Support both individual students and small groups on assigned academic tasks Help implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers and specialists Assist students with classroom routines and transitions Maintain confidentiality and uphold school procedures at all times This dynamic contract offers a meaningful way to contribute to student success each day.
