We are growing! Join us as we add more community learning groups for our team members. This role works directly with our team members with a total of 12 hours per week, Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8-12 or 9-1. Job Summary The Community Based Program Assistant incorporates social and life skill teaching into activities and provides support to small groups of team members (3-4 team members each group). The assistant facilitates activities at various businesses and community locations to meaningfully engage them, expand their work experience, and build their vocational skills for community employment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide training/teaching in social, educational and daily living skills to assigned group(s)
Job coach and support groups during volunteer and work experience
Respond to team member needs, conflicts, challenging behavior, and any other inappropriate behavior following the organization's principles and strategies for team member interaction
Communicate with team members regarding program schedules, changes, notes etc.
Transport team members safely to and from Diverse Options using company provided vehicles (van/buses)
Seek opportunities to expand activity options and enhance consumers' experiences whenever possible
Plan monthly schedules that balance community engagement and volunteer/work experience. Activities are purposeful and based on team members' interests and goals, as well as businesses' availability Complete vehicle request
Complete petty cash request and return paperwork following company's procedure
Occasionally assist team members with daily living activities (ADLs) including toileting and other personal care activities essential to caring for oneself
Assess team members' progress and make recommendations to best support team members
Record pertinent information as necessary to include team member case notes and tracking of individual goals and objectives
Work cooperatively with all staff to achieve department and Company goals
Maintain confidentiality policies of the corporation
Participate in the Real-Time Feedback and Goal-Achievement Coaching Program at Diverse Options, Inc
Maintain group space and company vehicles in a clean, orderly and safe manner
Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and professionally; good written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate activities, incorporate teaching social and life skills in all activities.
Open to learning to work with individuals with challenging behaviors.
Demonstrated ability to assist individuals with toileting and other personal care.
Demonstrated ability to respond to situations in an honest and ethical manner and to maintain a high level of confidentiality when necessary.
Demonstrated ability to problem solve, calmly approach difficult situations.
Proficiently skilled with basic computer applications including Microsoft Office products.
Knowledge of good housekeeping practices.
Education & Experience Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Education & Experience Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in: Psychology, Social work or Special Education. Or completion of training course(s) on supporting individuals with special needs.
Additional Requirements:
At the time of hire, must submit to and pass a caregiver background check, as required by The Caregiver Law under Wis. Stat. § 50.065.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to balance, stretch, crouch, bend, stoop, crawl, walk, kneel, twist, climb, stand, and sit.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Ability to push and pull up to 200 lbs.
Driving Requirements:
If individual will be driving his/her own personal vehicle for business purposes, proof of adequate personal auto insurance is required.
Individual will be driving a Diverse Options, Inc.
Vehicle (including vans/buses), he/she must meet Company driving standards, which include the following: o Must be at least 21 years old, o Must have a current valid driver's license o Must have a good driving record.
