Job Description
Huntington Learning Center of San Ramon Valley is looking for dependable, engaging educators who are passionate about helping students become stronger, more confident readers and writers. This is an excellent opportunity for teachers, substitute teachers, retired educators, graduate students, and professionals with strong English, reading, or writing backgrounds who are seeking meaningful part-time work in a structured and supportive academic environment. About the Position Tutors work directly with elementary, middle, and high school students using Huntington's established curriculum and instructional materials. Because lessons and materials are provided, tutors can focus their attention on teaching, encouraging students, and helping them make measurable academic progress. Responsibilities Provide reading, writing, vocabulary, and comprehension instruction Work with students individually and in small groups Follow Huntington's structured curriculum and teaching methods Explain concepts clearly and adjust instruction based on student needs Encourage students and help build their academic confidence Record student progress and communicate relevant observations to the center's academic team Maintain a positive, professional, and engaging learning environment Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university Strong reading, writing, grammar, and communication skills Ability to explain concepts patiently and clearly Dependable, professional, and comfortable working with children and teenagers Available to work approximately 10-15 hours per week Consistent weekday evening and/or Saturday availability Able to work onsite at our Danville learning center Preferred Qualifications Degree in English, education, communications, liberal arts, or a related field Teaching, tutoring, substitute teaching, mentoring, or classroom experience Experience working with elementary, middle, or high school students California teaching credential or substitute teaching permit
