Compensation:

$20-$25/hour, depending on experience and qualifications About Star Academics At Star Academics, we believe every child can succeed with the right support and encouragement. We provide high-quality academic enrichment for students in grades 1-8 through Singapore Math, English Language Arts, homework support, and engaging enrichment activities. Unlike large tutoring centers, we intentionally maintain a maximum 1:6 tutor-to-student ratio, allowing tutors to build meaningful relationships and provide individualized instruction that helps students grow in both skill and confidence. Responsibilities As an Academic Tutor, you will: Teach small groups of elementary and middle school students (maximum 6 students) Provide homework assistance while encouraging independence and problem-solving Teach Singapore Math using conceptual teaching methods (training provided) Support students in reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, and writing Lead engaging educational enrichment activities Monitor student progress and provide feedback to admin team Foster a positive, encouraging, and structured learning environment Collaborate with fellow tutors and admin We're Looking For Someone Who.. . Loves working with children and helping them learn Is patient, enthusiastic, and encouraging Has strong communication and interpersonal skills Can explain concepts clearly in multiple ways Is dependable, punctual, and professional Enjoys working as part of a collaborative team Maintains a positive attitude and growth mindset Minimum Qualifications High school diploma required Currently enrolled in college or bachelor's degree preferred Strong proficiency in elementary and middle school mathematics Strong English grammar and writing skills Experience working with children in tutoring, teaching, coaching, childcare, camps, or similar settings Reliable transportation Ability to pass a background check Preferred Qualifications Education, Mathematics, English, Science, or Engineering major Teaching or classroom experience Experience tutoring elementary or middle school students Familiarity with Singapore Math (not required, we will provide training) STEM or technology experience Bilingual abilities are a plus Why Join Star Academics?
