Job Description

Bee the Change Collective is adding experienced educators to our tutoring network in Apollo Beach, Florida . We're looking for teachers, former teachers, and established tutors who want to work directly with students in a personalized, one-on-one setting. Opportunities span elementary through high school and may include math, reading, writing, English language arts, science, social studies, study skills, and other academic subjects. Who This Opportunity Is For This role is best suited for an educator who has built substantial experience working with students and can quickly assess what a learner needs. Maybe a student has fallen behind and needs to rebuild foundational skills. Another may understand the material but struggle with organization or confidence. Others need additional challenge or consistent academic support outside of school. Our families also include students with different learning needs and profiles, such as ADHD, autism, dyslexia, executive functioning challenges, IEPs, 504 Plans, and other learning differences. Your job is to bring the experience, patience, and flexibility needed to meet the individual student where they are. What the Work Involves Meet students one-on-one in their homes Tutor subjects and grade levels that match your professional strengths Determine where additional instruction or reinforcement is needed Present material in ways that make sense to the individual learner Help students strengthen academic skills, study habits, and confidence Establish a consistent and productive working relationship with each student Communicate professionally with families and our team Maintain dependable attendance for accepted assignments Experience We Require We are specifically recruiting seasoned education professionals , not entry-level tutors. To be considered, you should have: 10+ years of professional teaching and/or tutoring experience A strong history of direct instructional work with students Expertise in one or more academic subjects and grade levels The ability to modify your approach when a student is struggling with traditional instruction Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Professionalism, patience, reliability, and good judgment Reliable transportation The ability to travel to students' homes for 100% of the assignments you accept A bachelor's degree is preferred. Teaching certification is a plus but is not required for every placement. Your Schedule and Assignments This is not a traditional fixed-schedule teaching position. When we have a student who may be a good fit, we consider your academic background, experience, location, availability, and preferred grade levels before presenting the opportunity to you. You can decide whether an assignment works for your schedule before taking it on. Once you accept a student, families count on consistency and reliability. Pay and Position Details General academic tutoring pays $50 per hour. Select specialized assignments may pay at a higher rate. Tutors work with Bee the Change Collective as part-time, 1099 independent contractors . All tutoring is provided face-to-face in students' homes in Apollo Beach and surrounding communities. This position does not include virtual tutoring. Interested in Working With Us?
