About Us Coastal Academic provides structured tutoring and test preparation for students in Ponte Vedra Beach, Nocatee, and St. Johns County. We combine personalized instruction, quality materials, and clear parent communication to help students build skills and confidence. Position Overview We are seeking a math tutor to support high school coursework and SAT/ACT Math preparation. Prior test-prep tutoring experience is helpful but not required; strong math tutors can learn Coastal Academic's approach and materials. This is an independent contractor opportunity. Responsibilities Provide one-on-one and small-group math instruction tailored to student needs. Identify skill gaps, explain mathematical reasoning clearly, and adapt instruction to help students understand challenging concepts. Use recommended materials and tools to guide practice and check independent understanding. Provide brief session notes or progress updates when requested.

Qualifications:

Required Bachelor's degree. Strong math proficiency and the ability to confidently teach through Precalculus. Prior teaching or tutoring experience. Professional communication, dependability, and patience, with the ability to keep students engaged. Willingness to complete onboarding requirements, including a background check, W-9, and contractor agreement.

Qualifications:

Preferred Two or more years of teaching or tutoring experience. AP Calculus AB/BC proficiency and tutoring experience. Experience helping students close skill gaps and supporting advanced learners with challenging coursework. Resources and Scheduling Coastal Academic provides recommended instructional resources and student opportunities matched to tutor expertise and availability. Tutors provide their availability and may accept or decline student opportunities. No minimum hours are guaranteed; assignments depend on student demand, subject fit, availability, and performance.
