Job Description

Overview We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Special Education Tutors to support students with diverse learning needs. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' academic growth and confidence. The role involves providing tailored instructional support to students in elementary and middle/high school grades, fostering an inclusive learning environment, and collaborating with educators and families to meet individual educational goals. Experience with Orton-Gillingham methods or certification is considered helpful for this role. Responsibilities Deliver personalized tutoring sessions to students with special education needs, focusing on their unique learning styles and challenges. Support students across different grade levels (grades Prek-6). Implement instructional strategies aligned with special education plans and accommodations. Utilize Orton-Gillingham techniques or certification where applicable to enhance reading and literacy skills. Monitor student progress regularly, adjusting teaching methods as needed to ensure academic advancement. Create a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation and confidence. Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions, student progress, and any relevant observations. Skills Strong understanding of special education principles and strategies. Experience or certification in Orton-Gillingham methods is advantageous, but not required. Excellent communication skills for working effectively with students, parents, and educators. Patience, adaptability, and a compassionate approach to teaching students with diverse needs. Ability to develop customized lesson plans that cater to individual learning styles. Organizational skills for tracking student progress and maintaining detailed records. Flexibility to work with students across different grade levels as needed. Pay:
$30.00 - $40.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 4.0 per week
