08/22/2019 Primary Function Wor-Wic Community College continuously accepts applications for part-time mathematics tutors to provide individual and small group tutoring for various courses from pre-algebra to calculus. Essential Duties The following list is not intended as, nor should it be construed as, exhaustive of all responsibilities, skills or working conditions associated with this position. Facilitating learning guides to assist students in becoming successful and independent learners Increasing and enhancing the mastery of concepts or applications of a specific course of study Integrating effective studying and learning strategies to maximize the tutee's potential for academic progress Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in mathematics or relevant field Excellent interpersonal communication skills The ability to relate to people from varying educational, cultural and social backgrounds A high level of responsibility, reliability and punctuality The ability to follow directions The ability to work independently Preference will be given to candidates with a background in higher level mathematic classes, including precalculus, statistics and calculus Supplemental Information This is an applicant POOL.
