As a NC Education Corps Member, you will work part-time, in-person at Belmont Elementary School in Roanoke Rapids Graded School District (RRGSD) for the 2026-27 school year. To follow the high impact tutoring model, you will work at least 3 days a week, with 1-3 students for 30 minutes at a time. This work will support K-5 students with their foundational literacy skills. Tutors will focus on the five pillars of reading: phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension. A background in education is not required, because you will be supported by a NCEC learning coach who will provide training, professional development, and support. You will become an employee of Roanoke Rapids Graded School District (RRGSD) and as such will be paid hourly. All tutors will participate in required professional learning during the school year. A paid initial training will be required upon employment start date with the opportunity to opt into monthly professional development.
