Join Ohio Reading & Math Corps and make a real impact on students' lives! Seeking service-oriented people to provide school-based mentoring for students in local middle/high schools as a Member of Ohio Reading & Math Corps! Work with students who are experiencing barriers to school success, including attendance, behavior challenges, or relationship difficulty. Members receive training and are assigned to one school for the school year Members will provide mentoring to a set list of students in small groups or in 1:1 settings. This is a great way to give back to the community, help students, and gain valuable experience for those interested in obtaining a job in a school district. This position is for Dixie Elementary School. This is a service position with AmeriCorps, requiring 30 hours/week September 1st - May 31st following the school schedule. Total commitment is 675 hours over 6 months. In return for service, Members receive a stipend of $1,500 per month, plus an Education Award of up to $2,800 upon completion of the term. This can be used to pay student loans or college tuition.
