12/31/2026 10:54 AM Eastern Position Summary The Tutoring and Supplemental Support Services Department is seeking Part-Time Professional Tutors to provide instructional support to college students in a variety of subjects. Hours - 10 - 20 hours per week (Daytime/Afternoon/Evening)
Essential Functions Tutor is responsible for providing one-on-one and/or small group tutorial assistance; must be willing to work with students in an open lab setting and maintain records of all tutorial sessions. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills needed. Some computer experience required. Provide individual and small group tutoring and academic support and/or writing support Explain, model, and offer academic assistance; this includes, but is not limited to, reviewing and discussing course material, formulating ideas for papers, working on solutions to problems related to the subject or assignment, providing samples, and offering suggestions for improvement Assist students with study skills Use resources available and other methods including incorporating technology during tutoring sessions Maintain all tutoring records required to document student attendance and academic progress Actively engage students for productive and meaningful learning sessions Communicate with the Director, Tutoring and Supplemental Support Services regarding issues, concerns and suggestions Participate in training sessions and meetings Preserve student confidentiality Keep agreed upon schedule Experience & Education Associates Degree in content or related area with experience in tutoring or teaching required; Bachelors Degree preferred. Proficiency in content related/subject area; experience in tutoring, teaching, or academic or writing support.
