Overview Fick Educational Services have been provided families with individualized education for decades. Our goal is to build confidence & achieve results! This role involves working closely with students and their families to provide tailored instruction to enhance their educational experience. You will work one on one with the student during tutoring sessions. Basically, the focus is on making sure our kids reach their goals! Responsibilities Educate and support elementary to middle grades students with unique needs in reading strategies, closing academic gaps, and adapting content to meet individual learning styles. We also have many resources for you to use in our office! Serve as a reading specialist for students using our services (our typical program uses the Wilson Reading System, but any reading specialist certification can be utilized). Report student progress to parents using our standardized tools at the end of each session. Communicate regularly with parents & FES staff to coordinate student schedule and needs. Monitor and assess student performance, adjusting instructional methods as needed to achieve longitudinal goals. Contribute to formal progress reports (depending upon the student) Maintain a general road map for future sessions aligning with parent and school goals. Skills Strong understanding of education principles and practices. A Teaching License is desired, and a formal reading specialist certification is preferred. Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues. Tutoring/teaching experience is highly desirable.
