Our philosophy is simple:

Teach students how to think, not just what to think. We are seeking an experienced, patient, and engaging Handwriting Tutor to work individually with elementary and middle school students to improve handwriting legibility, letter formation, spacing, alignment, and writing fluency. Responsibilities Provide personalized, one-on-one handwriting instruction. Teach correct letter formation, spacing, sizing, alignment, and writing consistency. Help students develop neat, readable manuscript (print) and cursive handwriting. Use structured, age-appropriate handwriting exercises and practice activities. Assess each student's handwriting challenges and develop individualized improvement plans. Help students improve writing speed while maintaining legibility. Provide encouraging feedback and practical exercises for home practice. Track student progress and communicate improvements to parents and Ottimmo staff. Maintain reliable, consistent tutoring appointments. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education, Elementary Education, Special Education, or a related field. At least 2 years of experience teaching handwriting, elementary writing skills, or foundational literacy in a school or structured educational setting. Demonstrated ability to teach handwriting effectively to elementary-age students. Strong understanding of letter formation, spacing, writing mechanics, and age-appropriate instructional methods. Excellent patience, communication, and classroom or tutoring skills. Ability to provide instruction in person in Coppell, TX . Commitment to consistent teaching throughout the academic year. Preferred Qualifications Current or former elementary school teacher. Experience with structured handwriting programs such as Handwriting Without Tears or Zaner-Bloser. Experience teaching both print and cursive handwriting. Experience working with students who struggle with handwriting fluency or fine-motor coordination.
