We are looking for a dynamic individual passionate about teaching for our after-school music program. Sistema Utah is partnered with American Preparatory Academy to offer music classes for free to under-resourced students. Patterned after the El Sistema movement that originated in Venezuela, it is our hope to empower our students for social change.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Mentors assist elementary grades (2-6) students with most subjects in an after-school classroom setting. There are three periods daily, each 40 minutes in duration. Paid training begins Monday, August 12th, and the job goes through the end of May. Hours (Part-Time):
M, T, F 3
15 pm-7:00 pm; W, Th 2:15 pm-6:00 pm
Qualifications Education/Experience:
Proficiency in writing, math, and Google applications (docs, sheets, forms, etc.) Bi-lingual preferred but not required Reliability, punctuality, and patience Effective communication skills Effective study skills and techniques
Education:
High school or equivalent (Required) Pay $14-17/hr.
DOE Expected hours:
