School Year Referee Norwalk Public School Middle Schools Position Summary:
The Middle School Referee is responsible for officiating athletic contests in a fair, consistent, and professional manner while ensuring a safe and positive environment for all participants.
Responsibilities:
Officiate middle school athletic games according to league and school rules. Enforce rules fairly and consistently. Promote good sportsmanship and respect among players, coaches, and spectators. Ensure player safety and stop play when necessary. Arrive on time, prepared, and in appropriate referee attire. Communicate clearly with coaches, players, and game personnel. Report any incidents or concerns to the athletic coordinator.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of the sport and applicable rules. Ability to make impartial decisions under pressure. a member in good standing of an official's board recognized by the CIAC (Preferred) Current CPR and First Aid certification (required). Completion of Module 15 Concussion Training (required). Successful background check. Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills. Reliable, professional, and dependable. Previous officiating experience preferred but not required.
