Basketball Referee - Independent Contractor E&E Athletics is seeking reliable, knowledgeable, and professional basketball referees for upcoming youth, high school, and adult basketball events throughout the Chicagoland area and Northwest Indiana. Responsibilities Officiate basketball games fairly and consistently Enforce game rules and E&E Athletics event policies Maintain control of the game while communicating professionally with players, coaches, staff, and spectators Arrive on time and prepared for assigned games Maintain professional appearance and conduct Accurately communicate scores, fouls, and game-related issues when required Qualifications Previous basketball officiating experience preferred Strong knowledge of basketball rules Referee certification/credentials preferred but not required for every assignment Dependable transportation Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills Must be reliable and available for scheduled assignments Ability to work primarily weekend events Compensation Officials are paid per completed game assignment , with rates generally ranging from $40-$60 per game , depending on experience, credentials, age division, and event.
