POSITION SUMMARY

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Sports Site Lead at the Golden Corridor Family YMCA intentionally fosters a cause-centered culture that is welcoming, genuine, hopeful, nurturing, and determined while ensuring high-quality, member-focused sports programming during assigned leagues, practices, games, tournaments, and special events.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1.

Serve as the on-site YMCA representative during assigned sports leagues, practices, games, tournaments, and special events. 2. Open and close athletic facilities according to YMCA procedures. 3. Ensure games and practices begin and end on schedule. 4. Supervise participants, coaches, officials, volunteers, and spectators to promote a safe and positive environment. 5. Assist coaches with equipment, field or court setup, and participant needs. 6. Address participant, parent, coach, and spectator questions or concerns professionally and in a timely manner. 7. Enforce YMCA policies, league rules, and the YMCA Code of Conduct. 8. Monitor facilities for safety hazards and report accidents, injuries, or maintenance concerns. 9. Complete accident and incident reports as required. 10. Set up, inspect, distribute, and properly store sports equipment. 11. Assist with participant check-in, attendance, and roster verification. 12. Promote YMCA programs, memberships, and upcoming sports opportunities. 13. Attend required staff meetings and trainings. 14. Perform all other assigned duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Previous coaching, officiating, or youth/adult sports experience preferred.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Within 30 days of hire, complete Child Abuse Prevention, CPR, First Aid, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens training.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to perform essential job functions, set up equipment, actively supervise participants, and respond to emergencies.
