Job Description
Gain experience through elaborate training in officiating and scorekeeping for Intramural Sports.
Career Readiness Competencies :
Career & Self-Development Communication Critical Thinking Game Operations:
Possess in-depth knowledge of sports rules, enforce Intramural Sports rules, regulations, and discipline actions, record scores on proper score sheets at time of score, and assist with field/court preparations before each shift
Equipment Management:
Assist in picking up equipment, return used equipment to designated locations, and maintain lost and found items
Customer Service:
Provide excellent service, maintain positive rapport with patrons and coworkers, resolve conflict, and remain active in designated space throughout shift
Safety & Emergency Response:
Assist Perry Field House or other Intramural staff with crowd control in emergency situations and report any incidents immediately to supervisors
Facility Support:
Perform maintenance/custodial duties when necessary and assist in the Intramural Sports Office as needed
Administrative:
Attend all training sessions and staff meetings, be an active participant, work playoffs and late nights as scheduled, cover shifts for other officials/scorekeepers as needed, participate in Student Development and Leadership Program, adhere to all policies outlined in Recreation and Wellness Student Employee Manual, support the mission of Recreation and Wellness, and perform other duties as assigned Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication, professional mannerisms and a friendly demeanor Be accountable and reliable Work independently and in a team Possess and maintain current CPR, First Aid and AED certifications Previous officiating experience preferred Possible continuous standing & running during shifts Be able to work multiple games in a row without undue fatigue
