Job Description

Job Overview (QCK) came to fruition in January 2024 to build out opportunities for Greater Cincinnati Youth (10-18) to find safe and influential out of school time activities, to avail under-served youth a cooperative co-ed team sport experience not predicated on the final score, to contribute to holistic healthy development with social emotional learning lessons, and to build travel opportunities with a focus on cultural exchange and service. This is all steeped in the hook of playing a new game—(similar to basketball without dribbling)! We have several sites for the 2026-2027 school year in collaboration with Cincinnati Public Schools, Saturday Hoops, Cincinnati Recreation Commission, and need coaches to help propel our impact!
NO EXPERIENCE WITH KORFBALL IS NECESSARY!
Responsibilities Bring positive energy in creating a trusting and safe space for our participants. Lead sports-specific training sessions in activities such as soccer, basketball, climbing, martial arts (including karate and judo), and swimming. Design age-appropriate coaching plans that emphasize skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Ensure the safety of all participants by supervising activities closely and adhering to safety protocols including AED operation and first aid/CPR procedures. Manage behavior effectively to maintain a positive and inclusive environment for children and teens of various skill levels. Loading and setting up equipment of varied weight (up to 50 lbs.). Must have access to your own vehicle. Experience Prior experience working with children (Grades 3-12) or youth in sports coaching or educational settings is highly preferred. Familiarity with AED operation and CPR certification is required. Background in sports team leadership or teaching physical education enhances your ability to motivate young athletes. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team coordination. Experience managing behavior in group settings to foster a respectful and productive environment. Most of all this job is about having fun, showing patience, and being consistent with and for our kiddos! We are looking for 2-3 coaches who are able to work 3-10 hours a week. Starting pay will be between $17-$20/hr. Hours available generally range from 3:00-6:00 PM most weekdays and Saturdays from 9:00-12:00 PM. There are additional opportunities when we have special events to help out as well (e.g. school break trips, camps, etc.). Additional opportunities for hours could include grant writing, posting social media content, and more!
