Job Description

Essential Functions Assessment and Interpretation Displays a strong background in learning theoryand related strategies. Identifies and assesses assimilation needs of students. Uses assessment data to develop appropriateinterventions for clinical student programs. Direct Interventions for Students Provides interventions forstudents to support and maximize learning. Provides advising to students on a one-to-one basis using the Appropriate Advising model. Develops and/or revises face-to-face and/or online programs to enhance student academic performance. Communicationand Relationship Skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Exercises professionalism and propernetiquette skills Strong inter-professional and inter-personal skills. Ability to work both independently and to collaboratewith others. Serve on university committees as assigned by the Chair of EED and/or Deans of pre-clinical sciences. Communicates and participates effectively with students, faculty, and University leadership in all virtualplatforms. Participates fully and actively as a faculty member of EED and AUACOM. Program Development andSupport Assists in the planning, development, support, implementation and evaluation of programs, workshops, and initiativesto meet learning objectives and adjustment needs. Learning Support Program Implementation Develops,delivers, and supports a planned and coordinated program of learning support services, including formal courses, workshops, and small groupinteractions. Collaborates with the Office of Student Affairs and on progressive student initiatives. Otherresponsibilities may include but not limited to: Attending and participating in special events, tasks, and programs, asnecessary. Participation in periodic evening and weekend duties, such as student workshops and meetings. Assisting in therecruitment, selection, training, development, and supervision of Teaching Assistants and Tutors. Other duties as assigned by theProvost, Chair of EED, Dean of Pre-Clinical Sciences. Position Qualifications Knowledge andexperience using the Appreciation Advising model; Appreciative Advising certification is preferred. Experience with data drivenquality improvement to assess program strengths and identify areas of improvement. Adhere to the academic standards and policies ofthe institution. Experience working in a remote/online (hybrid, or fully distributed) environment. Webinar hosting andmoderating experience required including familiarity with Microsoft Teams and Zoom. Proficiency in programs such as Microsoft OfficeSuite, Canva, and Adobe Creative Cloud. Create visually appealing, persuasive, effective presentations, andnewsletters. Develop, organize, and coordinate programs and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of theorganization. Experience in quantitative and qualitative survey design, development and deployment. Utilize availableresources to monitor academic progress. Skills & Abilities Education:
Terminal degree required in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Academic Advising, Adult Education, Health Sciences,Education Technology or a related field.
Experience:
3+ years of teaching experience in higher education and/or medicaleducation.
