Instructor - Dental Hygiene Program (Spring 2027- Tenure Track)

We seek candidates with:

MVCC is seeking to fill two full-time, ten-month Instructor positions in our School of Health Sciences to teach in a Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) accredited Associate degree dental hygiene program. The position(s) include a commitment to a teaching assignment in the Summer of 2027. Full-time faculty members teach contracted classes in accordance with established policies and guidelines. Teaching responsibilities include lecture, lab, and clinical assignments on the Rome campus. Courses may be taught in a traditional classroom and online formats. Other specific assignments will be made based on the individual's academic qualifications and program needs. In addition to teaching, full-time instructors participate in program assessment, curriculum development, student advisement, facilitating student experiences, recruiting for the program and serve on various School and College Committees. Requirement:

Faculty hired for the January 2027 launch of the Dental Hygiene Program will be required to perform Summer 2027 overload assignments as reasonably necessary to offer the spring semester curriculum to the inaugural cohort. Summer 2027 overload assignments will be compensated in accordance with the overload provisions of the Professional Association Collective Bargaining Agreement. This requirement applies to Summer 2027 only.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in a related field or currently enrolled in a Master's degree program

Current New York Dental Hygiene license and Dental Hygiene Anesthesia certification

Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience

Effective interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work in a multicultural environment

Flexibility in schedule and a willingness to work and contribute collaboratively

Preferred Qualifications:

Teaching experience

Educational methodology courses or continuing education

Additional Information:

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent basis. VISA sponsorship is not available for this position.
