  • December 23rd, 2026. Qualifications
  • RI Secondary CTE Quantity Food Preparation Certification
  • Experience as a culinary executive chef with specific concentration in food preparation
  • Knowledge of CTE BOT Industry Standards
  • Knowledge of RIDE high school reform and current educational practices
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively with students, parents, and staff.
  • Five years of successful experience in food service is required
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as may be appropriate and acceptable.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned
  • Maintain student records-grades, attendance, and performance measures that assess and improve student learning
  • Provide career education through learner-centered instruction that allows students to adapt to the evolving needs in the marketplace.
  • Follow the departmental curriculum, policies, and procedures regarding a proper learning environment. Practice a system in support of standards designed for effective classroom management.
  • Practice and promote a safe, secure work environment; may include OSHA standards
  • Promote the establishment of a productive environment for students to facilitate diversity awareness and sensitivity.

  • Analysis and critical evaluation and/or application of student work and instructional practices
  • Solve complex problems and think rigorously and independently-Collaboration and teamwork

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, sit, and talk or hear.
Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision and distance vision. Daily use of small and large motor skills applicable to the operation of commercial baking equipment. Regularly interacts with students, the public, and with other workers. Daily computer use. Regularly and essential to this position, the individual must meet deadlines with severe time constraints.   • Work environment consists of commercial kitchen/retail environment and the regular use of kitchen equipment: stoves, ovens, mixers, refrigeration units, cash register, other standard cooking appliances (manual/electric), and any other device needed for the effective preparation and presentation for food service.
The noise level in this environment may be loud, dependent upon the activity level during the day and the location.

Education Requirements-RIDE teacher certification in Quality Food Preparation
  • High School Diploma with 5 years industry experienceOR
  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years industry experience
