Job Description

Qualifications:
Must be a retired, honorably discharged, or transitioning member of the Armed Forces within specific rank tiers (such as senior NCOs or commissioned officers). Requires official federal certification or approval from the specific military branch command (Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marine Corps). Frequently requires an associate or bachelor's degree, or an agreement to complete higher education milestones shortly after hire. These are the qualifications of the military. Must complete the official Air Force certification process and background checks.

N/A Job Goals:
An ROTC (Reserve Officers' Training Corps or Junior ROTC) instructor teaches leadership, citizenship, and military science to students, manages program administration, and mentors cadets.
Performance Responsibilities:
In person job attendance Delivers structured lessons on leadership, military history, civics, and core values using official branch manuals. Guides student physical training, drills, ceremonies, and after-school competitive teams like color guard or rifle teams. Tracks student grades, maintains discipline, communicates with parents, and accounts for issued government property and equipment. Coordinates community service projects, school events, and institutional inspections in partnership with school administrators. Other duties as assigned.
Capacity and Ability Requirements:
The usual job demands require the following physical requirements: speaking, some lifting (up to 50 lbs.), carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, and physical dexterity. Maintains classroom as well as storage of uniforms and equipment.
Terms of Employment:
Eleven (11) Month Work Year. The 11th month shall be twenty (20) days scheduled following the last student day of the previous year and prior to the first teacher day of the following year. Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District's approved compensation plan.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.
