Own products from concept through production Work on complex, technically challenging applications About Our Client My client is a long‑established U.S. manufacturer specializing in engineered solutions for mission‑critical applications across highly regulated industries. Its products support some of the most demanding commercial and government programs, with a strong focus on quality, precision, and technical innovation. Job Description The Product Design Engineer will report directly into the NPD Manager and be responsible for: Design hydraulic and pneumatic hose assemblies, end fittings, swivel fittings, couplings, and related assembly systems. Develop crimping and swaging specifications, tooling, and manufacturing processes. Create 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs). Define product performance requirements including pressure, vacuum, temperature, vibration, and environmental criteria. Support new product development initiatives from concept through production release. Develop and oversee product testing programs, including burst, impulse, pressure cycling, vacuum, and leak testing. Conduct failure analysis investigations and provide engineering recommendations. Support production teams in troubleshooting assembly and manufacturing challenges. Develop assembly instructions, operating procedures, and training materials. Participate in root cause investigations, CAPA activities, FMEA development, and quality improvement initiatives. The Successful Applicant Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. 5+ years of experience in hose assembly design, fluid conveyance products, or related mechanical systems. Proficiency with 3D and 2D CAD software such as NX, SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD, or CATIA. Strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Experience with hose assembly manufacturing, crimping and swaging processes, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles. Knowledge of SAE, ISO, ASTM, AMS, or related industry standards. Experience with fluid conveyance testing methods including impulse, burst, vacuum, and leak testing. Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience. Hands-on manufacturing and troubleshooting experience. Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality and engineering excellence.
